This site is an information and patient-tools site for Dr. Jonathan Katz. It is not a patient portal and does not hold medical records. This page explains what it does and does not collect.

The schedule tools run in your browser

The Post-Op Eye Drop Schedule, the Eye Drop Schedule Builder and the Eye Medication Reference work entirely on your device. The choices you make (surgery type, drops, dates) are not sent to this site or anyone else. They are kept only in the address of the page while you are using it, so that the page can be printed, reopened from a link, or shared by QR code. If you share such a link or printout, anyone who has it can see the drops and dates on it, so treat it as you would a paper prescription. Calendar files are created on your device and downloaded directly to it.

The tools do not ask for your name, date of birth or any other identifying information, and the site has no login.

Contact form

The contact form sends your name, email address, optional phone number and message to the practice by email so we can reply. It is intended for comments about the website and other non-medical topics. Please do not send medical questions, symptoms or anything you would consider private health information through the form; call the office instead. Form submissions are processed through a small self-hosted mail service and are not shared with third parties.

Analytics

The site uses a self-hosted copy of Plausible Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. Plausible does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, does not identify individual visitors and does not follow you to other websites. It records the page viewed, the referring site, the country, and the type of browser and device, in aggregate. There is no advertising on this site and no advertising or social-media tracking code.

Cookies and storage

The site sets no cookies. It does not use your browser's local storage to keep information between visits.

Third parties

Pages load fonts, scripts and images from this site only. The Contact page embeds maps from OpenStreetMap, which loads from openstreetmap.org when that page is viewed; see the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy. Links to Katzen Eye Group and other outside sites are governed by those sites' own policies.

Medical information

Everything on this site is general education. It is not medical advice, does not create a doctor-patient relationship, and does not replace the instructions you receive at your visits. If you have a question about your own eyes or your drops, call your office.
